There is absolutely nothing about a mussel that makes me want to eat it. Mainly, because it comes out of the ocean and there is nothing about anything that comes out of the ocean that would make me want to eat it. I've seen some of my favourite celebrity chefs cook mussels on television though and it has one characteristic I find appealing. That is, the shell. It looks pretty in bowls, and clearly indicates if the mussel is good or bad after it is cooked. Fortunately, these two small things were enough for me to Keep It Cool tonight when Suresh and Fareena presented me a bowl of mussels in alfredo sauce as a starter at tonight's Apprentice night. I've never eaten anything that came out the ocean and out of a shell.
I was distressed. But I tried. And, they were ... fine. They were ... Good. I might eat them ... Again. I think it's only fair to say thanks to Suresh and Fareena for being so instrumental in this sea-issue breakthrough.
